I'm writing a book called The Wolves of Idlewild, in my research this morning for my book I came across this. I love scientific illustration like these, I could stare at it all day.

first thing's first

Ivanhoe Rising is my design blog, to share all the beautiful things that inspire me every day. Growing up, my favorite carousel horse at the World Trade Center in downtown Portland was named Ivanhoe. I've always liked the name and thought that pairing Ivanhoe's name with his Rising motion was fitting. Now I know design that I'll be posting about and carousel horses don't really fit together perfectly, but this is my party, as they say.
